Student Vehicle Registration

The MSU Police Department wants to welcome you to the Midwestern State University campus. We hope that your time at MSU is very educational, wonderful and a fun filled experience. If the MSU Police can ever be of service to you or any organization you are affiliated with, please feel free to contact our office.

All students, resident and commuter, are required to register their vehicle if they plan to drive or park on campus. We encourage students to be sure and read the parking brochure that is attached to their parking decal. All Texas motor vehicle laws as well as MSU parking policies are enforced on campus. We want your experience at MSU to be a pleasant and enjoyable one. We ask that you abide by the laws and policies of the State of Texas and Midwestern State University. At this time students must register their vehicles in person. You can do this by coming to the MSU Police Department. We are located on the MSU campus at the corner of Hampstead and Louis J. Rodriquez Drive (northeast corner of campus). You may also complete a vehicle registration card at the MSU Business Office located in the main hall in the Hardin Building. You may pay by cash, check, credit card or have it billed to your student account. No parking decal will be issued without the required information being provided. The following information is required:

1. Name
2. MSU ID Number or Social Security Number
3. Local Address
4. Drivers License Number and State
5. Vehicle License Tag Number and State
6. Vehicle Year model
7. Make of Vehicle
8. Model Name of Vehicle
9. Color of Vehicle

If you should receive a citation while on campus, we encourage you to either pay the citation or set it up for an appeal as soon as possible. You may pay the citation at the MSU Police Department or contact the MSU PD to make arrangements for payment. If you choose to appeal the citation, you will need to contact the Dean of Students Office in the Clark Student Center. A student appeals committee meets throughout each semester to hear the student appeals.

We also encourage students who may have bicycles on campus to register them with the MSU Police. Bicycle registration is a free service and it helps the Police Department identify a bicycle if we should receive a stolen bicycle report.

If you ever have questions or if we can ever be of service, please feel free to contact the MSU Police at (940)397-4239.

Thank you,

Chief Dan Williams
